Peripheral Artery Disease

When the arteries in the legs become blocked and decrease blood or oxygen flow. Can cause pain or discomfort in the lower half of the body


Treatments: Medication, walking exercise, Angioplasty & stenting, endarterectomy, bypass surgeries, and in rare cases amputation.

Symptoms include:
  • An early symptom is intermittent claudication, discomfort or pain in your legs that happens when you walk and goes away when you rest.
  • Critical limb ischemia, pain in the feet or toes when resting.
  • Severe forms of the disease can lead to sores on toes and feet
